Itinerary

Day 1

Manali → Chandra Taal (Approx. 140 km, 5-6 hours drive)
  • Depart early from Manali and drive through the scenic Atal Tunnel to enter Lahaul Valley.

  • Continue via Koksar and Chandra Bridge for brief photo stops amid Himalayan views.

  • Proceed to Gramphu, then switch to off-road jeep for the rugged trail through Chhatru and Batal. (4 hours journey)

  • Arrive at Chandra Taal parking area; trek 1 km to the crescent-shaped lake.

  • Explore the pristine turquoise waters, surrounding peaks, and glacial backdrop.

  • Reach Chandra Taal Lake campsite; set up camp or check into nearby tents on double or triple sharing basis

Day 2

Chandra Taal Lake → Manali (via Kunzum La)
  • Enjoy morning views of the lake and optional short nature walk.

  • Pack up and depart towards Kunzum La; stop at the pass for photos and views

  • Rejoin the main road at Gramphu and pass through the Atal Tunnel.

  • Drive via Batal and Chatru for lunch break.

  • Stop at Solang Valley for panoramic vistas of snow-capped mountains.

  • Return to Manali, concluding the tour with optional local market exploration.
