Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Manali & Local Sightseeing
  • Morning: Arrival & Check-in Arrive in Manali by bus/volvo from Delhi/Chandigarh (or via Bhuntar Airport ~50 km away). Transfer to hotel (prefer Old Manali or Mall Road area for convenience). Freshen up and have breakfast (try local Siddu or Himachali thali).

  • 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM: Hadimba Temple Visit the ancient Hadimba Devi Temple (built in 1553, pagoda-style wooden architecture amidst cedar forests). Explore the surroundings, click photos with yaks, and learn about Mahabharata legends.

  • 11:45 AM - 12:30 PM: Van Vihar Short walk/drive to this scenic park along the Beas River. Enjoy boating (if water levels permit), bird watching, and tall deodar trees. Entry fee: ₹10-20.

  • 12:45 PM - 1:30 PM: Tibetan Monastery & Nearby Gompas Head to Gadhan Thekchhoking Gompa or Himalayan Nyingmapa Gompa. Shop for handmade woolens, prayer wheels, and Tibetan artifacts. Try momos/thukpa for a quick snack.

  • 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM: Lunch Break Relax at a cafe on Mall Road (recommend Johnson’s Cafe or Cafe 1947 for trout fish/pizza).

  • 2:30 PM - Evening: Mall Road Exploration Stroll through the bustling Mall Road – shop for souvenirs (shawls, spices, dry fruits), visit local markets, and enjoy street food (tikki, ice cream). Optional: Visit Club House for indoor games/adventure activities.

  • Evening: Leisure & Dinner Return to hotel by 7 PM. Dinner at hotel or try Il Forno (wood-fired pizza). Overnight stay in Manali.

Day 2

Adventure to Solang Valley, Rohtang Pass & Atal Tunnel
  • Early Morning: Breakfast & Departure (7:00 AM) Pack warm clothes, gloves, and sunglasses (high altitude). Start with packed breakfast or hotel meal. Hire a cab/union taxi (mandatory for Rohtang; permit required via online portal – apply in advance).

  • 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM: Solang Valley (14 km from Manali) Reach Solang (altitude ~8,500 ft). Enjoy adventure sports: paragliding (₹800-1500, 5-10 min flight), zorbing, ATV rides, or ropeway cable car (₹500-800). Winter: Skiing/snowboarding if snow present.

  • 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM: Rohtang Pass (51 km from Manali, via Atal Tunnel route) Drive through Atal Tunnel (9.02 km, world’s longest high-altitude tunnel). En route stops: Kothi Village and Sissu.

  • 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Lunch Packed lunch or at local dhabas near Sissu/Rohtang (maggi, rajma-chawal).

  • 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Return Journey with Stops Revisit Atal Tunnel for photos. Optional quick stop at Gulaba (snow point alternative if Rohtang closed).

  • Evening: Back to Manali (by 6 PM) Relax, bonfire if hotel offers. Dinner with Himachali folk music. Overnight in Manali.

Day 3

Kullu Excursion – Rafting, Paragliding & Sajla Waterfall + Departure
  • Morning: Breakfast & Departure (8:00 AM) Check-out from hotel (keep luggage in cab). Drive to Kullu (~40 km, 1-1.5 hrs).

  • 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM: White Water Rafting in Kullu Start at Babeli/Pirdi (Grade II-III rapids on Beas River, 7-14 km stretch). Cost: ₹800-1,200/person (incl. gear, guide). Duration: 1-2 hrs on water. Change into dry clothes post-rafting

  • 12:45 PM - 1:45 PM: Lunch Riverside or Kullu town (try trout at local eateries like Vaishno Dhaba).

  • 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM: Paragliding in Kullu Head to Dobhi or Bijli Mahadev base (tandem flights ₹2,000-3,000, 10-15 min). Soar over valleys with Himalayan views.

  • 3:45 PM - 4:30 PM: Sajla Waterfall Short drive (~15 km from Kullu town) to this cascading waterfall amidst pine forests. Trek lightly (10-15 min), picnic spot, photography.

  • 4:30 PM - Evening: Shopping & Departure Quick visit to Kullu shawl factories/markets for Pashmina/angora souvenirs. Drive back to Manali (~1 hr) or directly to Bhuntar Airport/bus stand for departure (evening volvo to Delhi).
